MRS MAGGIE JONES DIES AT HOSPITAL HERE EARLY TODAY
Mrs. Maggie Jones, aged 80, of Saltillo community, died at Memorial Hospital at 2:40 a.m. today.
Mrs. Jones had lived in Saltillo community for 65 years, although she was a native of Mississippi. She married Jeff Jones, who survives,in 1891. Mrs Jones was a Baptist.
Other survivors are two sons, William J of Conway and V.M. Jones of Cabot; three daughters, Mrs Emily Landers, Mrs Thelma Bolding and Mrs Tressie Bush of Conway.a stepdaughter, Mrs Della Landers of Conway; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Oak Bowery at 2 p.m. Tuesday by Rev E. F. simmons and Rev T.W. Hays. Burial will be at Oak Bowery Cemetery by Doolin Funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Garland Block, Frank Martin, Grady Martin, Marvin Kelly, William Kelly and John Walls.
She worked on the family cotton farm. When she was ll her family moved to Ark. They made their home in Belmont community located in the eastern part of Faulkner County.
She married in 1891. They married at Moore Place other side 4 mile Hill in Faulkner County.They lived on top of the hill from where Phalba and JD lived. They had only lived there 18 months when it burned so they moved to Ingleside and then to house where Lewis Bush now lives (1981) Maggie died of locked bowels according to Tressie Bush.
Maggie's educational opportunites were few, but she was able to obtain a fifth grade education which enabled her to read the bible and newspapers and to write to relatives. Being able to do these things was a source of joy and pleasure to her throughtout her life.
J D Jones was 28 and Maggie was 20 at time of marriage and was married by Allen M Brannon.
She lived in Sal Tillo community for 65 years.

GOLDEN WEDDING OBSERVED BY COUPLE NEAR CONWAY

Conway-June 27 Mr and Mrs J.D. Jones observed their golden wedding anniversary at the home in Saltillo community Sunday with their six children, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren and about 75 friends and neighbors present.

Mr. Jones,79. a farmer, was born on the present site of McAlester, Oklahoma. He came to Arkansas when he was 17. Mrs. Jones, 71, was born in Belfont, Mississippi and came to this state when she was 19.

The couples children are Miss Tressie Jones, Mrs W.E. Bolding, Mrs G.M. Landers, Mrs. Emily Landers, William J Jones and V.M. Jones
