Mrs. Matilda Wise Clark passed away at her home, corner of west Mountain and Church streets, Wednesday afternoon. She is the wife of Col. Sam'l A. Clark. The family has been residents of the city for the past twelve years, having lived previously at Winfield, Iowa. She is survived by her husband and two daughters: Mrs. Edward M. Calvin and Miss Wahnectah Clark.
Mrs. Clark was born as Miss Matilda Wise, in Green county, Penn., June 16th, 1839. She and Mr. Clark were married March 22nd, 1865, at Wenona, Ill., having lived together more than fifty-three years.
It is expected to hold the funeral services at the home on Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. If relatives expected to be present are able to arrive by that time; if not, notice will be given at a later date.
Is requested by the family that there be no floral offerings.
