Joseph H. Zerull, 73, of Rock Island, a Canton native, died Monday, May 22, 1995, in his home.

Born Nov. 30, 1921, he was a son of George E. and Elizabeth C. Logsdon Zerull. He married Henrietta E. Wheeler on Sept. 6, 1941, in St. Patrick. She survives.

Mr. Zerull attended technical schools and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a route salesman for dairies and a bakery, and later owned and operated Redwood Village in Milan and a Laundromat in Rock Island. He also was a licenses Realtor. He was an active member and served in various positions with Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 246 in Moline and St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Survivors also include three daughters, Mrs. Bob (Josetta) Mulvihill of Madison County, Iowa, Joyce Kuykendall of Hoffman Estates, Ill., and Mrs. Chuck (Paula) Burgmeier of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son, the Rev. J. Kevin Zerull of Geneseo, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and a brother, Philip Zerull of Rock Island.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island by the Rev. Ambrose Cunningham. Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday in St. Patrick Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Allouez Council 658, Knights of Columbus; or the Steven Phillis Memorial Fund at Alleman Hig School.
