Frank Garner, 92, formerly of 402 W. Butler St., Olney, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 10 p.m., at Burgin East Nursing Home.

Visitation and services will be in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers Funeral Home. Military graveside rites will be by Olney Veteran Organization. Burial is at Haven Hill. Rev. Dwight Jones presiding.

Mr. Garner was born March 30, 1891, in Marion County, the son of Wiley and Cora Belle Miller Garner.

He was united in marriage in 1940 to Louise Preston who preceded him in death in 1961. He was then married to Louise Clayton who preceded him in death. He then married Dora Garner who also preceded him in death.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olney, Elks Lodge, American Legion, World War I Vets, 40 et 8, I.O.O.F. and Past Commanders Club of the American Legion.

Mr. Garner was a car inspector for the B. & O. Railroad and a volunteer fireman in Olney for many years.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Frank and Joan Garner, Olney; three step-daughters, Nila Hays, Calumet City; Katherine Johnston, Brentwood, Mo.; Mary Muxfeld, Normal; three brothers, Clark Garner, Salem; Cecil Garner, St. Louis; Marvin Garner, Joppa; three sisters, Mattie Garner, Elizabeth McGraw, Leona Brumfield all of Salem; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three wives, four brothers and two sisters.

Frank's first wife was Essie H. Friesner, 1891-1930+.

Frank and Essie were married in 1915 and are shown together in the 1920 and 1930 census.

Louise Preston apparently was the second wife of Frank Garner (they first appear together in the 1940 census).

Since Louise died in 1961 and Frank lived until 1984, Dora was his third wife.
