Obit/The Farmer City Journal, 10/2/1958, Thursday: Glen W. Calhoun dies in Hospital.
Glen Wesley Calhoun, 62, long time farmer in this vicinity, died at 4:30 a.m. Sat. 9/27, at Carle Memorial Hospital, Urbana, where he had been a patient the past 12 days. He had been in failing health since April.
He was born here 2/9/1896, a son of Wesley Raper & Mary (McClure) Calhoun. He was married in 1917 to Edna Frisch, who died in 1928. He was married in 1929 to Mary B. Brooks who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Howes, Bradford & Mrs. Dolores Briles, Bloomington, Indiana; 3 sons, Wesley R. Calhoun, Gibson City, Warren E. of this city (Farmer City, Il.) & Glen D. Calhoun, Champaign, Il. Eleven grandchildren & 1 brother Leslie D. of this city also survive. His parents & two sisters predeceased him.
He was a member of the Weedman Methodist Church, Knights of Pythias & Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Stensel Funeral Home with Rev. Edgar Lillpop, Weedman Methodist minister & Rev. Francis Samuelson, local minister officiating. Burial was in Grandview Memorial Cemetery, Champaign. (IL)
