Mary Caroline was adopted, by the Perry Little and wife (1) Elizabeth and wife (2), after her parents death. The Little family took her and her siblings, twins (Williamson Hip & ? ) and one other male child, in to raise. Caroline had crippling arthritis early in life. She died of Cirrohsis of the Liver & Nephritis. Caroline, her husband, Lorenzon D. "Ran", and her brother, Williamson "Hip" Little, are all buried at Lower Salem Cemetery.
Caroline and her husband Lorenzo had seven known children: Allie, Amanda Melissa, who died at about age 13, James Oliver "Ollie", Bertha Ann, John Howard, Louie D. and Harrison "Harry", who died at about age 4. Caroline and Lorenzo made their home in Hillerman, Massac Co., IL.
It is believed that Mary Caroline's parents are Thomas Clark and Mary Moore but this, as of yet, is unproven.
