She met her future husband John Lee Priesmuth when a young woman and moved to Houston, Texas with him. He was born in Galveston, Texas worked for Houston Lighting and Power when they married. They bought a house in the Garden Oaks subdivision and in 1951 Vivian and Lee adopted a son, John Lee Jr. When her parents were old, Vivian and Lee moved them to a small house they built behind their home. Many family reunions were held in her backyard with all the relations. She was a very sociable and outgoing woman and was very much loved by her family and friends.
When she died, she was buried beside her husband, John Lee Priesmuth, and brothers Lloyd A. Adams and Brian Lewis Adams, and her parents in the Adams plot in Morton Cemetery Richmond, Texas.
