Mrs. James was the widow of Ed James, former president of the Greene county board of supervisors. She was a member of the Piave Baptist church. The Rev. Joiner conducted the services. Interment was made in the James family cemetery.
She leaves six daughters: Mrs. George L. Smith of Clinton, Mrs. Lula Thomas of Hattiesburg, Mrs. J.C. Harger, Richton; Mrs. But Lee Fox of richton; Miss Emma Ruth James and Miss Otziree James, both of Piave; three sons, Sam James of Richton; Luke James of Richton and Edward James of State College; three sisters, Mrs. J.R. Walley of Richton; Mrs. R.A. Gordon of Piave and Mrs. J .T. Norsworthy of State Line; two brothers, S.S. Henderson of Richton and Willis Henderson of Richton.
