The funeral for Austin St. Clair Harris, 80, of 192 Kelly Street, Harrisonburg, will be held at 3:30 pm Friday at Lindsey Funeral Home.
The Revs. Kelsey Harris, Andera Cornett-Scott and Jack Pettyjohn will conduct the service. Burial will be at Newtown Cemetery.
Mr. Harris died March 30, 1992 at his home. He had been ill since November.

He was born May 24, 1911, in Lexington and was a son of the late W.N.P. and Geraldine Robinson Harris.

He attended elementary school in Lexington. He moved to Harrisonburg and graduated from Effinger High School, where his father was principal. He was one of the first four students to graduate from the four-year high school. He also attended Lincoln University at Chester, Pa., where he was a member of the Omiga Phi Psi Fraternity.

Mr. Harris was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and was a groom at the O'Sullivan Farm at Charles Town, W.Va. He had lived in Harrisonburg since his retirement.

On Feb. 14, 1941, he married the former Carlotta Newman, who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Austin Gerald Harris of Philadelphia; one sister, Eleanor Collins of Washington, D.C.; and one brother, Norman T. Harris of Delray Beach, Fla.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
