Carl E. Slaybaugh. 82. of 44 Wellington Place. Westwood. N.J.. died Tuesdav in Orlando. Fla.
He was born in Adams County, the son of the late William and Amanda Thomas Slaybaugh. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Westwood. He graduated from Gettysburg College and taught high school in Hanover
He taught for 31 years at Westwood High School, where he also coached baseball. He also played baseball in Adams County for the Bendersville team. He was a member of the National Education Association in Washington D.C.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Rice Slaybaugh. of Westwood; two daughters. Mrs Phyllis McCall. of Pairfax, Va., and Mrs. Joyce Gradky. Fort Wayne, Ind ; three sisters, Mrs. Esta Fidler. Miss Blanche Slaybaugh, and Mrs. Theima Fry, and one brother, Harold Slaybaugh all of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Peters Funeral Home with the Rev. Mathias Torgersen officiating.
Burial will be in the Biglerville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from noon until time of services. In lieu of other contributions, memorial gifts to the United Methodist Church of Westwood would be appreciated
