Alton L. Stiles was born in Ranger, TX on May 12, 1932 to Aaron and Oda (Taylor) Stiles. Alton graduated from Ranger High School where he was very active in sports including All-District honors in 1949. He then attended Ranger Jr. College where he was also involved with the football program. In 1952, Alton enlisted in the Air Force.

On December 12, 1953, Alton married Helen Miller of Seymour, TX. During his military career, they were stationed in Texas, Alabama, Kansas, Nevada, Newfoundland, Thailand, and 2 tours of duty in England. He retired in 1974 with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. After retirement, the family moved to Eastland, Texas.

After moving to Eastland, Alton was an instructor at Ranger Jr. College for 8 years. During this time, he also started an air conditioning repair business. When he left the College, he expanded his business to a store front where he also sold and repaired appliances. He was the owner/operator of Stiles A/C & Appliances for over 20 years.

Alton loved the Lord. His faith was unwavering and he was a blessing to everyone who knew him. Wherever Alton lived, he was very active in the local church. Over the years he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Director, Deacon, Chairman of the Deacons, Bible Study Leader, Associational President, Men of Honor member, and served on may different committees.

Alton was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Helen; by both of his parents, Aaron and Oda; and by his sister, Murel Amspoker and her husband Richard (Dick) Amspoker.

He is survived by one son, Randy Stiles and wife Kay of Celina, TX and their son Brandon; by daughter Brenda Millican and husband Vince of Carbon, TX and their sons Tanner and Mason; by daughter Cheryl Busk and husband Guy of Eastland, TX and their sons Shaun Huffman and wife Katie of Poteet, TX; Chad Huffman and Crystal Purdom of Eastland, TX; Guy Busk Jr. of Leander, TX; Heath Busk of Eastland, TX; and Dusty Busk of Pleasanton, TX. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren; Trent and Brooke Huffman - children of Shaun & Katie; and Bentley, Tavyn, and Myla Huffman - children of Chad and Crystal. Alton is also survived by two brothers; Virgil Stiles and wife Erlene of Baton Rouge, LA; and Joe Stiles and wife Lou of Simpsonville, SC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
