Etta was the daughter of Maurice Collins and Elizabeth Hayes. She was the mother to Lysle and Ethelene Mcclelland the dear wife of Arthur McClelland. They lived in Royal Oak all their lives, and after Art's death, she lived in the duplex next door to her son Lysle and his family at 332 W. Kenilworth. She died when her granddaughter, this contributor, was three years old.

OBITUARY: Mrs. Etta G. McClelland, age 61, died Tuesday night in Stanford University Hospital at Palo Alto, California, where she had been confined for ten weeks. She had gone to Redwood City, California three month ago to visit her duaghter, Mrs. Harold C. (Ethelyne) Loding.

A native of Royal Oak, Mrs. McClelland was born January 25, 1879, on Ten-Mile Road between Campbell Road and Stephenson Highway. She was a life member of the First Methodist church and a charter member of the South Circle of the Ladies' Aid Society. Her husband, Arthur, died Dec 10, 1832.

The McClelland home was at Lafayette and Woodward Avenue for 25 years before they moved to Kenilworth at Woodward Avenue seven years ago.
