Funeral services for Tom Riney were held Thursday, May 8, in Arnold's Funeral Home in Canton, with the Rev. Earl Clayton Grandstaff officiating. Pallbearers were Don Neil, Lonnie Osborn, Kline Logsdon, Horace Snively, Rocker Pleasant and Olen Fretwell. Burial was in Providence cemetery near Williamstown. Mr. Riney died Monday, May 5, at LaBelle Manor. John Thomas Riney, the son of John and Emma Jones Riney, was born in Lewis County on June 25, 1888. He was married to Alvertie Fretwell on May 26, 1912. Mr. Riney, a carpenter, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a sister.
