Miss Mary Ida Brennan, daughter of Edward and Teresa Brennan, was born at the Brennan homestead near St. Patrick, Dec. 24, 1881, and died in Blessing hospital, Quincy, Thursday, May 8. In 1901 she came with her parents to Canton and completed her education at St. Joseph's school. For ten years she was operator in the Canton telephone office, and on December 17, 1927, she became an assistant in the law office of Attorney H. H. Howard, and continued in that service until April 21, 1947, when she became seriously ill. The body was at the Barkley Funeral Home in Canton until Monday morning when it was taken to St. Patrick where a High Mass was sung by Father O'Duignan, of the St. Patrick church, and Father Kenny, of St. Joseph's church, Canton, preached the funeral service. Her nearest relatives are courins, the parents and two sisters having preceded her in death.
