Funeral services for Mrs Mae Quinn were conducted Sunday, December 22, 1963 for the First Christian church in Beaver City, Nebraska. Mr Allen Burnham pastor officiating at the last rites.
Anna Mae Gilchrist was born on June 20, 1881 at Medora, Iowa and passed from this life December 16, 1963 at the Oxford hospital at the age of 82 years, five months and 26 days.
She was the daughter of Scott and Mary Jane Gilchrist . She cam to Nebraska with her parents when quite young in a covered wagon and locating in Harlan county, Nebraska, where she lived nearly all her life.. One year her own family lived in Burlington, Colo..
She was married on January 22, 1902 to Mike Quinn of Oxford, Nebraska. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on January 22, 1952 at an open house in their home in Beaver City.
She was baptized unto Christ and enjoyed attending Sunday school class and church services at the Christain church as long as her health permitted.
She also was a faithful reader of the Bible.
She spent most of the last years of her life in the home of her daughter Mrs Cecil Weir.
Preceding her in death were her husband Mike Quinn who passed away on June 19, 1960 at Denver, Colorado;her parents Scott and Mary Jane Gilchriest, two sisters Viola and Mrs. Fay Day of Portland, Oregon; two brothers in infancy; one brother Charles, December 1960 at Denver, Colorado; one grandson Bernard M Quinn of Alliance, January 1, 1963.
Survivors are her five children; Frank S Quinn of Caldwell, Idaho, Robert A Quinn of Long Beach, Calif., Emery A Quinn, Ella M Weir of Beaver City, Nebraska, and Floyd E Quinn of Edison, Nebraska; sisters, Mrs Grace Goosic of Nevada, IA., Mrs Maude Montoney of Alma, Mrs Nannie Thalheim of Almena, Kans., ,Mary Jane Criddlebaugh of Beaver City; brothers, Ted Gilchrist of Broadwater; George Gilchrist of Bridgeport; nine grandchildren, Phyllis Hardin, Jeanine Quinn of Beaver City; Dennis Alonzo Quinn of Edison, and Gerald Quinn of Norfolk, Virginia; Grant Quinn of Bellevue, Robert Quinn of Lincoln, Alta Hahn of Caldwell, Idaho and Donna Reiss of Lincoln; twenty-one great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends who will greatly miss "Grandma Quinn" as she was so affectionately known.
Hymns used at the service were "We'll Gather At The River" and "Beyond The Sunset." The duet of Mrs Allen Burnham and Mrs Don Dusenberry was accompanied by Mrs Lyle Mayo.
Internment was made in the Oxford cemetery. Pallbearers were Verlon Thalheim. Lloyd Thalheim, George Quinn, John Quinn, Joe Quinn and Eugene Quinn.
