Mrs. Smith was affiliated with Trinity Episcopal Church and was past president of Trinity Episcopal Guild. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary; World War I Auxiliary, Toledo Barracks 837; Widows of World War I; the Republican Women's Organization; Blanchard Valley Hospital Association; Blanchard Valley Hospital Guild; the Humane Society; Winebrenner Auxiliary; and the American Association of Retired Persons.
She was a former member of the Eastern Star and Findlay Art League. She was a past president of the art league.
