Horace Edward Augustine was born on March 13 1937 in Mansura,Louisiana to Edward Augustine and Elsile (Batiste)
Augustine.
Horace attended Catholic school in Alexandria,Louisiana at St.James High.After successfully completing high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and later retired from the United States Air Force Reserve after honorably serving his country for twenty plus years.
Horace later joined OG&E in Oklahoma City working his way up through the ranks to become the first African American Draftsman in the Engineering department.He retired from OG&E in 1994.

Horace was a gentle man of very few words with a heart of gold! His hobbies included: working in his garden,fishing and watching a variety of sports on televison.Horace would occasionally demonstrate his passion for grilling and preparing the famous Okra dish.

Horace is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Augustine,12 children from previous unions-Treina Augustine,Myrl Augustine,Michael Augustine,Valeria Augustine,Marvin Ray Augustine,Joseph Augustine,Marcus Augustine,Martin Augustine,Horace Augustine Jr.,Cerphenia Bell,Gloria Cook,Michelle Augustine,3 step children- Stacey Dewberry,
Troy Smith,CoCo Brownlee and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents:Edward and Elsile Augustine,and 2 sisters-Mary Refour and Julia McGee.

Horace Augustine will always be remembered as a loving and genuine person.Althrough his life here with us has ended,his legacy will continue in his children,wife,family and friends.

Pallbearers:Michael Augustine,Marvin Ray Augustine,Joseph Augustine,Marcus Augustine,Martin Augustine and Horace Augustine Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers:Stacey Dewberry,Willis Dewberry and Troy Smith.

Order of Service:The casket of Horace is sprinkled with Holy Water.A white garment drapes the casket.These symbolize the completion of baptismal grace at death.Religious objects are placed on top of the casket as reminders of Horace's faith and worship of the Lord.Incense is used as a sign of the Holly Spirit in our midst and as a symbol of our prayers ascending to Heaven.
