Weldon "Red" Wallace Bundy , 81, of 231 Broad Street in Harrisonburg, died at Rockingham Memorial Hospital on Nov. 17, 2003.

He was born in Harrisonburg on June 25, 1922, and was the son of the late Dennis and Bertha Burgess Bundy .

He had lived his entire life in the Harrisonburg area and graduated from the Effinger School. He was a member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church and was co-founder with his father of the Bundy 's Boys Band.

On March 12, 1943, he married Carmelita H. Bundy , who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Doris Reed and her husband, William, of Harrisonburg; two grandchildren, Deanna Reed of Charlottesville, and Joy Webb and her husband, Mario, of Richmond; three sisters-in-law, Doris Allen of Harrisonburg, Geraldine Howard of St. Louis, Mo., and Judith Howard of South Carolina; a brother-in-law, Ernest Howard of South Carolina; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, John Howard "Duffy" Smith of Luray.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at the funeral home with Dr. Isaac Paul Coker and the Rev. Ralph E. Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in the Newtown Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the John Wesley United Methodist Church, c/o Carlyle Whitelow, 100 Mount Crawford Avenue, Bridgewater, Va. 22812.
