"CHLOE" SHEPARD 1777-AFTER 1850

Several Dates of Birth are documented for our Hannah "Chloe" SHEPARD whose Parents are given as John Shepard, JR and his wife, Lois BLAKE. The dates of birth reported are May 1777 and Oct 1777. I have found a 1850 US Census to consider - -

1850 Census – DOUBT IT, but NOT SURE – Birth Dates don’t match up. Our Chloe SHEPARD Fales was born in 1777 and would be 73 years old in 1850 not 68, a 5 yr difference but she is in Wrentham where she was born. - Possibility.

Did Chloe Fales really die in 1838 or did she get a divorce?

While the "about 1782" date on the 1850 Census would make her age at marriage only 15, that is a possibility. I have found while researching, several of my family members telling little white lies in order to marry. Her first child, Samuel Turner Fales was born in 1798 making her 16 which is not common, but also an acceptable age.

On the 10th of September 1797, Peter Fales, IV 1778-1857 MARRIED 1st: Hannah "Chloe" SHEPHERD 1777-AFT 1850 in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Peter's occupation at the time was a Farmer and a Blacksmith.

1st Wife, "Chloe" SHEPHERD Fales DIED sometime Between 1809-1850 and is buried in Joy Cemetery located in Trumbull County, Ohio. Did she actually Die? or did they Divorce?

Peter Fales, IV MARRIED 2nd: Judith Ann COLE 1791-1856 in Attleborough, Massachusetts on the 21st of February 1815 and had 9 more children.

I do not see how it is possible for Chloe to have died in Ohio, since Peter married Judith in Rhode Island. Chloe and Peter's youngest children were all born in Maine and I find it more likely that she died there, and returned home to where his parents Peter and Avis had raised him in Rhode Island. I have no documentation That is true however. I have been to Ohio and found no records that she was ever there in Trumbull County. I did find land records, cemetery records etc. There.
