Funeral services for Mr. Woodley H. Leger, 81, of Sulphur, will be held at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Sulphur. Dr. David Holder will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Sulphur, under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday, April 9, 2010 in Robison Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and resume on Saturday, April 10 in First Baptist Church, from 11 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Leger passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 surrounded by his loving family.
He was met at the gates of Heaven by his parents, Joseph and Lucille Leger; brother, Willard Leger; sister, Beatrice Fullington; daughter, Darlene Hodnett; grandson, Joey Monfette and son-in-law, Raynova Burck. Mr. Leger was an oil field worker for Santa Fe Drilling for most of his life and a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur. He was a very loving, caring and dedicated husband; father and grandfather who loved to spend time with his family, his cherished friends and church family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: First Baptist Church of Sulphur, 401 S. Huntington Street, Sulphur, LA 70663: Building Fund "In Memory of Woodley Leger."
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Melba Leger, Sulphur; Judith Burck, Riverside, AL; Ruby Robertson and husband, Carter, Wisner, LA; Monty Leger and wife, Phyllis, Sulphur; eight grandchildren; Monty Ray Burck, Melba Monfette, Heaven Sherman, Roy Hodnett, Lanny Granger, Janice Leger, Jason Leger, Kyle Leger; 19 great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren.
