Frank Babcock was my G-Grandfather
Frank Babcock was born Feb.16,1856 in Rockland Co., New York to John Jacob Babcock and Emeline Wiley Babcock. Frank had an older sister Laura A. and a younger sister Jennie A. Babcock. Frank's father owned a hotel in Nyack, New York and his mother died when all of the children very were young. Frank married Jane E. Nickerson, daughter of Henry Nelson Nickerson and Catharine E. Vanderbilt Nickerson of New York on Jan. 19, 1878 in New York. Frank and Jane had two children, a daughter Emeline and a son Harry. Frank was a shoemaker in New York until the time of his death.

Frank Babcock
Frank Babcock died at his home in Nyack on Thursday, after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Babcock was recently taken ill with a cancerous affliction and was removed to the Nyack Hospital for treatment. Not much hope was given of his recovery, but his death, which was not unexpected, has cast a shadow of grief upon his large circle of friends.
Mr. Babcock was a much-respected citizen of Nyack, and for years was an earnest and devoted member of the Baptist Church, from whose services he has been greatly missed since illness caused his absence.
He was the son of the late John Babcock, and is survived by his wife, daughter Emeline, and a son, Harry, who have the sympathy of all in this community in their great bereavement.
