Gene Douglas McAlister , 46 , of Route 11, Jackson Circle, husband of Mary Jo Davis McAlister, died Tuesday at Anderson Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Paul and Eva Black McAlister. He was a dealer of a Hess Station, a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church, founder and prior owner of McAlister Heating and Air Conditioning.
Surviving are widow, of the home; son, Douglas McAlister of the home; daughters, Miss Mary McAlister of the home, Mrs. Jimmy (Debbie) Myers of Anderson; brothers, Paul McAlister of Williamston, Clarence, Calvin, Charles and the Rev. Hugh McAlister of Anderson, James McAlister of Columbia; sisters, Mrs. Eunice Aiken, Mrs. Betty McLeese and Mrs. Catherine Taylor of Anderson, Mrs. Evelyn Coster of Greenville; two grandchildren.
Services at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Mount Tabor Baptist Church by the Revs. Glenn Bryant, Hudson White and Rudolph Flower. Burial in New Silver Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe McAlister, Hoyt Taylor, Mike McAlister, Richard Hudgens, Gray Fellers and Ernie Hansberger.
Singers will be Gerald McAlister, songs: "No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus". Jimmy Davis Jr. will sing "How Great Thou Are".
The body is at McDougalds North Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. The family is at the home.
