Donald is the son of William J. and Myra Grove Bloom. He married Edith I. Buckley on Oct. 30, 1938 in Crown Point, IN.
Their children: Tom Bloom, Michael Bloom and Jane (Severns).

Donald G. Bloom, 83, of Decatur died Friday (Dec. 31, 1999) in his residence. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg. Memorials: Decatur Memorial Hospice.
Mr. Bloom was born in Roanoke on Dec. 7, 1916, the son of William J. and Myra A. Grove Bloom. He owned and operated North Side Laundrette and Bloom's Grocery, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mr. Bloom was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He married Edith Buckley in 1938.
Surviving are his wife; son, Tom and wife Nancy Bloom of Decatur; daughter, Jane and husband Rod Severns of Decatur; grandchildren, Chris and husband Carl Bradley of Champaign; Scot and wife Michelle Bloom of Germantown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one sister.
He deeply misses and is missed by all he knew.
