In the 1850 census Charles was Wilton in the household of Moses Adams age 81, no occupation. charles was 36 and a farmer, wife Julia A. was 35 and children were Charles N. age 9, Josephine age 8, Alonzo B. age 6, Betsey a. age 2 and Madeline age 1. Julia had been born in Massachusetts and remainder of household in Maine.
The 1860 census indicates wife Julia then age 45 had been born in Fall River Massachusetts and daughter Josephine residing with the family, then age 18, had a last name of Chaney (Cheney).
In addition to children above Charles and Julia had sons Samuel H. Adams born in 1833, and Frank Walter Adams born in 1857, perhaps others.
Cemetery record shows Charles died at age 54, 7mos and 10 days and was buried in East Wilton. Also in the lot wife Julia A. (Miller) who died 1860, Eliza T. wife died 1918, B. Abby and M. Madeline, daughters of Julia died 1856, Irandus M. Adams, son died 1858, Lorintine E, daughter of Julia died 1846 and Julia L., daughter of Julia died 1856.
