Robert Eugene Marble, son of Delos & Fae Gloyd Marble, was born May 18, 1922 in Spencer, Iowa His childhood years were spent in this community and it was here that he received his early education. After attending high school, Robert entered the military and served in the Navy as Gunner's Mate during W W II. Following his discharge, Bob returned to Spencer.
On Nov 12, 1948, Bob married Pearl Perkins in Jackson, Minn.. Throughout their marriage, the Spencer community was there home. Bob worked as a farmhand for 31 years, as a security guard at Eaton Corp. and for Witco for 3 1/2 years. He retired in Sept. of 1980.
Robert passed away at his home on Aug 31, 1988, at the age of 66 years. He was preceded in death by his father; his wife on May 27, 1986; 1 brother, Charles & ! sister, Inez Reiter.
Bob is survived by 1 son & his wife, Donald & Kim of Royal; 5 daughters: Nancy Yrierweiler & her husband Paul of Greenville, Beverly Woolery of Des Moines, Robert Beck of Spencer, Donna Paulton & her husband Anthony of Sioux City and Doris Bliek of Carter Lake; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his mother, Mrs Fae Marble of Spencer; 3 sisters: Ruby-Mrs Loren Phelps of Sioux Rapids, Shirley-Mrs Herbert Butler & Mrs. Delores Muchow, both of Spencer; other relatives & friends.
