Shirley Annetta Butler, the daughter of DeLos Rogers abd Fae B Marble, was born March 10, 1930 in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, where she received her education in rural schools.
Shirley married Herbert Sherman Butler on September 6, 1947 in Jackson, Minnesota. Following their marriage, she worked at Carroll's Bakery, Superior and Helen's Laundry, before running her own laundry service. She later worked for A & M Laundry until her retirement 7 years ago. She was a past member of the Eagles Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary and the Little Soo Breaker's CB Club.
Mrs Butler passed away at her home in Spencer, Iowa on March 8, 1993 at the age of 62. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers: George James, Robert and Charles; 1 sister, Inez and one grandson, Michael.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert of Spencer; 2 sons; John and Herbert, Jr. of Spencer; 3 daughters: Wanda Brausey of Norfolk, NE, Connie Butler of Clermont, Florida and Fayette Butler of Holstein, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; Delores Dale of Spencer and Ruby Phelps of Sioux Rapids, IA; other relatives and friends.
