OBITUARY OF HENRY J. NANCE

Henry J. NANCE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank NANCE was born at Spearmore, Oklahoma, October 17, 1911.

He passed away in the Wichita Hospital, Wichita, Kansas on December 20, 1951 at 7:40 o'clock in the evening at the age of 40 years, 2 months and 3 days.

He was married to Miss Gracie Paulina RADCLIFF at Beaver, Oklahoma, on December 21, 1931, and to this union 5 children were born. Monday was their twentieth wedding anniversary.

He made a profession of faith in Christ at the age of 10 years. In 1930 he united with the Nazarene Church and then in 1944 he be united with the First Baptist Church of Forgan and was baptized by his pastor, Rev. Herman Powell on April 29 of that year.

Some of his favorite scriptures were II Corinthians 6:17 and Matthew 18:20. "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." (II Corinthians 6:17)

"For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them." (Matthew 18:20)

Life held for him, a large measure of material cares and physical pain as well as vexation and trials of soul. But the Holy Spirit held his heart firm in grace that he might meet those storms of life undismayed and weather them all, confident and assured of her Lord's mercy, calm and unmurmuring in the knowledge that whatever God ordained was truly good. Even though our hearts are saddened, and the human sense of loss is great, we are happy to know that he is with the Lord. The family circle will be unbroken in that better home awaiting in the sky.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Grace of the home, Two daughters, Mrs. Donna Hope NOBLE of Liberal, Kansas, and Beverly of the home. He leaves three sons George, Henry, Richard Willis and Carl Denzel, all of the home; He also leaves his father, Mr. Frank NANCE of Wichita, Kansas. He leaves four brothers, Marion of California, Virgil of Howard, Kansas, Earl and June of Wichita. Two sisters, Mrs. Leona BAGSHAW of Wichita and Mrs. Opal RAULERSON of Columbus, Georgia. Two grandchildren, Jimmie Dean and Joan Kay NOBLE and his son-in-law Johnnie NOBLE also survive him besides a host of other relatives and friends.
