GREENSBURG - Dennis E. Alexander, 84, of Greensburg died at 1:07 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 1996, at Heritage House of Greensburg.

He was a retired grain and livestock farmer and a member of Burney Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and trustee for many years.

Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rand Hooten officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Union Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Alexander was born in Decatur County July 12, 1912, the son of Frank and Elizabeth Pumphrey Alexander. He married Dorothy Cook Aug. 12, 1936, at Greensburg. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, John E. Alexander of Franklin; a daughter, Joan Kling of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Mazel Bokelman of Greensburg; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gordon E. Alexander; brothers, Paul and Ralph Alexander; and sisters, Ruth Cornell and Ethel Corya.
