Marie, only 41 at the time of her death, Diabetes took her too soon. She put up a valiant struggle. She leaves behind her 14 year old son, Richard, and now joins her baby daughter in heaven who she lost so many years ago because of this disease. We were friends since we were 6. No grave site, she wanted her body cremated to rid her of this disease, her ashes were strewn on a Mountain near a lake. When I think of Marie, I can see her smiling and saying "I'm okay". She used to tell me that when I would ask her, "How are you doing?"
God Bless you Marie. I miss you.

Ode to a Lost Friend

Looking back so many years,
to days of laughter, love, and tears.
Remembered joys, forgotten woe,
those fleeting times of long ago.

Through summer days, so warm and long,
when all the world was filled with song.
Those darker months in winter's chill.
Sweet childhood spent on Summer Hill.

Remember family and friends,
the memory that never ends.
The happy times I shared with you,
though years sped by before we knew.

Now, sitting in the fading light,
staring towards eternal night;
my feet must follow, as of yore
the path that you have trod before.

And when as in the distant past,
our spirits reunite at last,
we'll find that place that's free from pain,
and you and I will laugh again.

Missing My Friend

I lost a part of me today ...
I don't think the pain will end.
The world is a lonelier place to be,
Without you in it, my friend.
The warmth that brought joy to all you met
The smile that lit up a room
The laughter that made everything seem all right
Have all been replaced ... silence ... gloom.
I won't say good bye, for we will meet again,
In my heart I know that is true.
For now, Rest in Peace, in God's loving arms
While I, my dear friend ... miss you.

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me
For I must be traveling on now
There's too many places I've got to see

If I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change

Oh, and the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change

Bye-bye babe, it's been sweet, love
'Though this feeling I can't change
But please don't take this so badly
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame

But if I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change

Oh, and the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change
Lord help me I can't change

Oh No, I can't change
