Wilton--Esstella Adams, 86, of the Davenport Masonic Sanitarium, former Wilton resident, died Tuesday evening, April 22, at the Masonic Sanitarium where she had made her home since 1961.
A daughter of Joseph W. and Jane Linn Crees, she was born July 2, 1882 at Cedar County. She married Charles F. Adams, November 6, 1907. Mrs. Adams was a member of the United Church of Christ; Purity Chapter OES No. 365 at Wilton.
The couple farmed in Cedar county until 1936 when they moved to Wilton where they lived until 1957. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to make their home with their son George. They returned to the Masonic Sanitarium to make their home in 1961.
Survivors are one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elsie Pittman of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Luella Fidelein of Atalissa; and two granddaughters, Barbara and Janelle.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962, one son, George in 1961; parents, four brothers, three sisters and one half sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 25 at the Griffith Funeral Home, Wilton. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery, Cedar County. Rev. Homer Perry will officiate.
Friends may call at the Griffith Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Thursday.
