Lee A. Johnson, age 77, of Atglen, PA passed away at the Brandywine Hospital on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
He was the husband of Lillie Mae Allen Johnson with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage.
He was born July 13, 1932 in Rose Hill, VA, son of the late Thurman & Rhoda Jane Cope Johnston.
Lee & Lillie were married September 8, 1954 in Jonesville, Lee County, VA.
He was a member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church of Cochranville. He retired in 1997 from Lawn & Golf Supply Company, Inc. of Phoenixille, PA where he was a mechanic.
He was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army, Company A 809th, Engineering BN. He was in Korea during the Third Korean Winter & Korean Summer campaigns. He received a Korean Service Medal w/2 bronze service stars, a National Defense Service Medal and a U.N. Service Medal. He enjoyed fishing and working around the house. He would find a way to fix almost anything.
Surviving besides his wife are three children: Jeanette wife of Vince Keagy, Jr. of Trenton, NC, Janice wife of Buddy Trago of Gordonville, Clyde Johnson and fiancee, April Koch of Gap, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Gladys Cope of Shepherdstown, WV, Dora McCurry of Rose Hill, VA.
Also surviving, three sisters-in-law: Gladys Johnston of Jennersville, PA, Mary Lee Cody of Jonesville, VA and Beulah, wife of Tom Haynes of Fall Branch, TN.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Ryan Coates and 2 brothers: Marshall & Grover Johnston.
