Dr. Elijah W. White Dies at Poolesville
Well-Known Physician Had Been Ill But Two Days; Funeral Will Be Held Sunday Afternoon.
As the result of an illness of but two days' duration, Dr. Elijah Wooton White, prominent physician and leading citizen of Poolesville, died at his home there Friday morning at 11:35 O'Clock of heart failure. He was 60 years two months and 24 days of age and had practiced in the Poolesville community throughout his medical career. He was an associate on the staff of the Frederick City Hospital and was well known here.
He was a son of the late Benjamin and Sarah White, of Poolesville. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence P. White, and the following children: Mrs. Elizabeth Nicholson, Rockville; Mrs. Mary Knight, Asheville, NC; Elijah W. White, Jr., U.S. Army, and Miss Florence Helen White, at home. The following brothers and sisters also survive; Harvey and Benjamin White, Poolesville; Mrs. Mary Claggett, Washington and Mrs. Louise Ball, Washington.
Services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late home. Interment in Monocacy Cemetery at Beallsville. William B. Hilton, funeral director.
