On August 23, 1866 he married Susan D Tripp of Joliet, Illinois who preceded him in death November 9, 1909. To this union were born 8 children, 3 sons and 5 daughters. The oldest son died when a child.
The surviving ones are Mrs. Hattie May Flagle, Beaver City, Okla, Charley S Roberts, Howard, Colo. Mrs. Rosa Bliss, Woodston, Ks, Byron L Roberts, Johnson, KS, Mrs. Nellie Harrison and Mrs Pearl Beaman, Dodge City, Ks. Mrs. Myrtle Peterson, Jetmore, KS.
Father Roberts was a Civil War veteran having enlisted in Co K 1st Michigan Mechanics and Engineers at Litchfield, Mich, September 27, 1861 and a was discharged October 31, 1864 at Atlanta, Georgia.
Services at Howard. He was buried at Jetmore beside his wife.
