New York, Oct. 14 (Special) -- William Boulton Kelly, 68, who was an active Baltimore civic leader, died yesterday at his home here after a year's illness.

A native of Baltimore, he was educated at Gilman School and Princeton University. He was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Howard A. Kelly. Dr. Kelly was an internationally known medical authority and a member of the original "big four" of the Johns Hopkins Medical School.

After his third year at college, Mr. Kelly joined the Army and trained as a pursuit pilot in France. When he was discharged he held the rank of lieutenant. He returned to Princeton after World War I to receive his B.A. degree.

Joined Trust Company
Shortly after graduating, he joined the Baltimore Trust Company as assistant secretary and treasurer. He worked there until 1933.

From 1933 to 1942, he was president of Kelly and Sadtler, Inc. a construction and real estate firm.

Until he moved to New York, he continued to serve on various boards.

Social Ties
He was a trustee and past president of the Keswick Home, an institution for the elderly, and he was a trustee of Brown Memorial Church.

He was a member of the Maryland Club, the Elkridge Club and the Bachelors cotillon, and in New York he belonged to both the Princeton Club and the University Club.

Mr. Kelly married the former Katherine F. Bulkley in 1923. The two lived for many years on St. Georges road, until her death in 1959.

He married the former Alice Doyle Cook in 1961, and then moved to New York city and Quogue.

His survivors include, in addition to his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Lucy K. Meacham, of Cleveland; a son, W. Boulton Kelly, Jr., of Baltimore; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Warner, Miss Olga Kelly and Mrs. Laetitia Coolidge, all of Baltimore, and Mrs. Esther Seibels, of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Frederick Kelly, of Bel Air, Md., and Henry Kelly, of Charlotte, N.C.; and eleven grandchildren.

The time of funeral services has not yet been set.
