Mrs. Etta Price Allen, 68, formerly of the Willowtown Community in Taylor County, Finley, Route 2, daughter of the late Mr. Lewis Price and Mrs. Pearl Patterson Price, was born in Larue County, June 24, 1903. She died at 8:45 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 1971, at the Taylor County Hospital. She had been a patient at the Boston's Convalescent Center here in Campbellsville for the past two years. She professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Mr. Sam Allen April 13, 1920. He preceded her in death July 4, 1957. To this union eight daughters and three sons were born. Surviving are Miss Sadie Allen, a patient at Boston's Convalescent Center, Mrs. James Shofner, Mrs. James (Mary Kay) Hourigan, and Mrs. Elmer Warner, all of Campbellsville; Mr. William Allen and Mrs. Coleman Price, both of Campbellsville, Route 3; Mrs. Russell Sprowles of Finley, Route 2; Mr. Oddry Allen and Mrs. Ethel Puryear, both of Louisville. Besides her children, she is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and one brother, Mr. Leonard Price of Columbia. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, September 1st, at the Mt. Washington Baptist Church by Rev. Coy Kidd. Burial was in the church cemetery. Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements. Pallbearers were Thomas Miller, Archie Miller, Ed Sullivan, Walter Sullivan, Jimmy Salsman, and Albert Miller.
