Two Aged Brothers Die Within 30 Hours

LEESBURG, Va., November (Special) - A double funeral will be held in the Muse and Reed funeral home here at 2 PM Saturday for two brothers who had always lived and worked together.

Thomas S. Alexander and his brother Edward, who died within 30 hours of each other, each from a heart attack, will be both buried in Leesburg Union Cemetery.

Thomas, 78, died Wednesday morning at his home near Purcellville. Edward, 76, died Thursday afternoon at the same location. The younger Alexander had been in Leesburg earlier that day to help assist in arranging his brother's funeral.

The two were born near Leesburg, and had been employed by the Sanitation Department of the Town of Leesburg for 30 years until they retired together about seven years ago.

Edward was unmarried. Thomas' wife, Carrie, died two months ago.

The Alexanders leave two brothers, Harrison and Grafton, both of Loudon County, three sisters, Blanche Nece of Washington, Bertha VanHorn of Alexandria, and Katie Roles of Arcola, Va.
