Letha Meadows Slagle, 86, of Houston, Texas, died Dec. 11, 2007, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Mrs. Slagle was born January 29, 1921, in Elkton and was a daughter of Walter Yager Meadows and Ella Jeanette Meadows.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Stewart Slagle, and brothers Edgar Lloyd Meadows, Otis Ivan Meadows, Everett Yager Meadows, and four brothers taken at birth.
She was employed as a secretary at the Pentagon during World War II, and with the Reconstruction Finance Corporation after the war, and was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Letha Patrice Slagle; son-in-law Grant Alan Gist; stepchildren Stewart Everett Slagle and Shirley Slagle Long; sister, Margie Meadows Moody; and grandson, Miles Stewart Gist.
Friends and family will be received at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m. Services will be held at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Elkton on Monday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m., to be followed by interment at the Dean Mountain Cemetery on Skyline Drive.
