Mrs. Keefer was born on September 2, 1907 in Coleman County the daughter of Owen Caleb Wallace and Lula Martin Keefer. She has lived in Abilene since 1955 and was the widow of David Ray Keefer, an Abilene barber from 1955 until 1982. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, crochet and quilting. She was a member of the First Central Presbyterian Church where she attended the Women's Ladies Circle Sunday School Class.
Survivors include six children, Eula Rae Bailey of Abilene, Geneva Adams and husband Archie of Crowley, James Austin Keefer and wife Evelyn of Abilene, Lula Malaer and husband Wayne of Cibolo, Albert Keefer and wife Patricia of Abilene and Kathileen Stevens and husband Steve of Abilene; 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Her husband, a sister, Lilly Cole, a brother, Marshal Wallace, a son, Owen Keefer and a grandson, Tony Keefer preceded her in death.
