June was a very talented guy. He played saxophone in a jazz band and was a writer of fiction. He worked in the oil fields around Ranger, Texas, and then at the telegraph office for the railroad.

Like all of the men in his family, he drank and gambled and lived life on the edge.

He married young and fathered two sons, but his love of the edge caught up with him and he was killed in a car crash on the Mingus road outside Eastland when his sons were just 6 and 2 years of age.

He was, and is, sorely missed.
