Mr. Jones was born in Greenwood county and lived there his entire life.He attended Greenwood High School, and was a longstanding member of South Main Street Baptist Church. Mr. Jones married Sybil Williamson Jones and continued to be married to her for 62 years at the time of his death.
After retirement from the United States Postal Service and owning mom and pop store, Mr. Jones was content tending his small farm and caring for his assortment of animals daily.
Mr. Jones is also survived by his two daughters Corneila J. Neeley and husband Dennis Neeley of Greenwood, S.C and Nancy Jones of Durham, N.C.and one son Dayton C. "Buster" Jones III of Greenwood.
D.C. as he was so loving called by everyone had three grandchildren. Jason Perrone,Jordan Neeley,and Madison Neeley.
