Funeral services for Charlie T. Dotson, 85, of Athens, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in West Athens Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Eads and Rev. David Hill officiating.

Interment will be in Morris Cemetery in Van Zandt County, under direction of Foster and Brown Funeral Home.

Mr. Dotson died Tuesday in Henderson County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 31, 1895 in Erath County.

He lived in the Athens area the past 25 years, and formerly lived in Van Zandt County.

He was a member of West Athens Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Effie O. Dotson of Athens; one son, Claud Dotson of Troup; one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Adair of Athens; one step-daughter, Mrs. Addie Lee Benack of Athens; three stepsons, Sam Lindsey of Conroe, Joe Lindsey of Thornton, and Jack Lindsey of Chicago, Ill; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews, J.R. Boyd, Bud Boyd, Mann Boyd, Dugan Boyd, Glenn Chipley and Clinton Chipley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Worsham, Kenneth Dotson, Ron Simmons and O.Z. Benton.

(His first marriage was to Allie Wallace.)
