Judge William Eaves died 19 Sep 1898, of diabetes at his home on Washington Street in Anna, aged 82 years, 10 months, 24 days, and was buried in Anna Cemetery.

He was born 25 Oct 1815, in Tennessee and moved with his parents to Alabama. At age 19 he moved to Union County. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

He married in 1834 Martha Williams, of Kentucky, who died in 1845. They had five children, of whom, M.V. Eaves and Mrs. Adam Eddleman survived. He married 2nd in 1847 Mrs. Mary Delves. They had five children, of whom three survived him: Mrs. T.G. Stokes, Mrs. Jos. Culp and Mrs. L.J. Hess, all living near Anna. He also raised a niece, Fanny Eaves. Jonesboro Gazette Obituary.
