She was born September 21, 1915 in the town of Wittenberg, the daughter of the late Alex and Anna (Torbeck) Brunner.
On September 14, 1935 Alice was united in marriage to Herbert E. Strassburg in Eland. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1996.
Survivors include five sons, Roger (Myrene) Strassburg, Shawano, Elton (Marcella) Strassburg and Kenneth (Shirley) Strassburg, all of Bowler, Alvin (Jackie) Strassburg, Wausau and Dale (Karen) Strassburg, Coon Rapids, MN; two daughters, Carol (Marvin) Fuhrman, Tigerton and Bonnie (Ronald) Schumacher, Milwaukee; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward (Agatha) Brunner, Tigerton; one sister, Agnes Brandt, Birnamwood; one brother-in-law, Ted (Esther) Strassburg, Bowler; two sisters-in-law, Adelia Diestler, Shawano and Hazel Brunner, Wittenberg.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by one son, Thomas, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held July 8, 1999 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bowler. The Rev. Clifford Kessen officiated. Interment was in St. Paul Lutheran Riverside Cemetery, town of Almon, Shawano County.
