Obituary for Kermit R. "Jeff" Blevins
Kermit R. Jeff Blevins, age 81, of Damascus, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. He was born in Washington County, Virginia and grew up in the Offset Community in Sullivan County, Tennessee. He was a son of the late Walter and Stella Blevins. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, one grandson, one great grandson, three brothers, and one sister.
Jeff was loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Velma Blevins; a son, Ralph Blevins of the Offset Community; one sister, Nancy Larimer of Republic, Ohio; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastors Billy Hawkins, Robert Griffin Jr., and Junior Gobble officiating.
Pallbearers will be Allen Stanley, Jack Larimer, Rick Wallace, Randy Willis, Billy Jack Main, Sam Blevins, and David Buster Blevins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to Damascus Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 458, Damascus, VA 24236.
