Mark L. Gates, age 45 of Smyrna, GA., passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Mr. Gates loved the mountains and thoroughly enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. Gates was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Marlene Gates and brother Timothy Michael Gates. He is survived by his wife Karen Gates, daughter Jessica Gates of Hiram, stepdaughter Danielle Anderson of Douglasville, stepson Brandon Anderson of Douglasville, sister Deborah Bryant and husband Danny of Dallas, GA, niece Christina Felker, nephew Jason Bryant, great-nephews Lance and Tony, and his beloved cat Boomer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2:00 am at Georgia Memorial Park Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to the Salvation Army, P.O.Box 49247 Atlanta, GA 30359.
