Richard B. "Bud" Schwartz, 77, a retired accountant died at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday in Home Hospital. He lived at 1826 Kossuth Street.
Mr. Schwartz was an accountant with Lafayette Reliable Coal and Roofing co., for 36 years before retiring in 1983. He was an army veteran and served in the Philippines.
Born November 23, 1910 in Lafayette, he graduated from Jefferson High school and the old Indiana Business College.
Mr. Schwartz was a member of the First Christian church where he was a decon and treasurer for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 11; Tippecanoe Lodge 492, where he was Tyler for 27 years, member and past patron of Hope Chapter 5, Order of Eastern Star, York Rite, chapter 3; Royal Seclect Masons 68; Lafayette Commandary 3 and Knights Templar. He was an honorary member of Masonic Lodge 123.
His marriage was June 27, 1936 in Indianapolis to Edna L. Royer, an employee of the Fashion for many years. She is the only immediate survivor. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
