NORTH FAIRFIELD — David C. Jackson, 44, of North Fairfield, Ohio, died early Thursday morning, April 1, 2010 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born July 17, 1965 in Durham, North Carolina. Dave was a 1983 graduate of South Central High School and E.H.O.V.E. Joint Vocational School. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division serving with the Norwalk National Guard. Dave was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in Iraq. He retired in 2007 with 21 years of military service. He is a member of North Fairfield American Legion Post #706 and the Norwalk Bronson Conservation Club.

Dave was employed by the State of Ohio, Castalia Turnpike Center and was a former employee of Erie Supply Company and Mike Hohler Plumbing Company. He enjoyed antiquing, camping, and cookouts with family and friends. It was Dave's concern for his fellow man that he chose to be an organ and tissue donor.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sharon A. (Ott) Jackson of North Fairfield, Ohio and by his daughter, Rachel L. Jackson of North Fairfield and by his sons, Jon P. Jackson of Norwalk, Ohio and James D. "Jim" Jackson, serving with the U.S. Air Force at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming. Dave is also survived by his parents, James R. and Linda L. (Walls) Jackson of North Fairfield, Ohio, by his sisters, Cammy Daniel of Monroeville, Ohio and Eileen M. Jackson of Norwalk, Ohio, by his mother and father in law, Paul and Evelyn Ott of North Fairfield, Ohio, by his brothers and sisters in law, Joe and Kathy Ott of Norwalk, Ohio, Jim and Rosemarie Ott of Norwalk, Ohio and Dan and Wendy Ott of North Fairfield, Ohio, and by his nieces and nephews, Holly Daniel, Sarah Hasselbach, Bradley Hasselbach, Kelly Hasselbach, Richard Ott, Haley Ott, Bridget Ott, Danny Strecker, and Trisha and Carol Dougherty.

Friends may call on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Settlement Road, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Bill Pifher will officiate. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery with military graveside services being conducted by North Fairfield American Legion Post #706 and Ken Bur Bell Post #706, Norwalk, Ohio.
