Laura was the daughter of Thomas Clifton, a druggist who settled in Paola in 1867. She married Thomas Youmans December 03, 1894, in Paola, Miami, Kansas. They moved to Osawatomie where they remained the rest of their lives.

Surviving children were: William Thomas Youmans, Fallbrook, California; Mrs. Winona Gelkey, Kansas City; Mrs. Coyetta Childs, Detroit; and Mrs. Juanita Jackman, Phoenix, Arizona; 8 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church.
