"Shuman, Henry - Died on 5 Jul 1908 at the age of about 86 years. He was a native of Tyler Co., WV and had in his younger days cleared away much of the virgin forest from lands of this county. The intermant was at the county cemetery on the Infirmary farm."
The Tyler County Death Register gives his age at death as 79 years. (Bk. 3, p. 165) This DOB appears to be more correct than the obit based on other records.
He married Elva Ann Michael in 1847, Monongalia Co., WV (Bond 25 July 1847). Henry married 24 Oct 1893 in Tyler Co., WV, Cynthia (also referred to as Lucinda in census) McCullough, age 43, and is living with her and his step-children in Ellsworth District in the 1900 census.
Henry & Elva also had a dau., Easter who died Dec.1873 at age 18. (No further data)
