Christena McLaughlin died March 28, at home of natural causes.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. April 5 at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery. A potluck reception will follow at Bethel Church, southbound Highway 49 at Christian Life Way.
She was born in Trenton, Mo., on April 5,1920, to Orval and Lena Scott.
She married Gerald McLaughlin at a foxhunt in Jamesport, Mo., September 14, 1935.
The McLaughlins came to Tena's beloved Grass Valley in 1939. She was a loving mother and housewife. She also worked for the Community Workshop and retired from The Union. She loved her children and large family, yard flowers, her pets, and bingo.
Mrs. McLaughlin is survived by her children, Burl and Roger (Shelley) McLaughlin, Peggy Gomes, Diana (Don) Ryberg, Kathy (Andy) Cassano, and Judy (Stu) Uchida, all of Grass Valley, and Joyce Mowry of Loomis; 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; siblings Charles and Darrell Scott, and Dick and Tom Boffman, Sheron Jenson and Erma Kistle.
Mrs. McLaughlin was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, son Danny, granddaughter April, parents Lena and Orval Scott, stepfather Roy Boffman, sister Ruby Ratel, brothers Vern and Ermal Scott, sons-in-law Bill Gomes, Larry Mowry and Garvin Carter.
